About JSON Wrench
JSON Wrench is a free JSON formatter, validator and repair tool made by Arguably. It exists because most JSON tools stop at "Unexpected token". We wanted one that tells you exactly what is wrong, where, and fixes it.
What makes it different
- Explains errors. Over twenty specific JSON mistakes are recognized and explained in plain English, with the exact line and column.
- Fixes them safely. Auto-fix lists every change it makes and never edits your input until you choose to. If it cannot repair something safely, it says so instead of guessing.
- Keeps your data exact. Formatting and minifying only move whitespace, so large numbers, decimals and key order never change.
- Handles real-world JSON. API responses, log lines, escaped strings, Python dicts, JavaScript objects and JSONC config files.
Private by design
Everything runs in your browser. There is no backend that could receive your JSON, and no account to create. The privacy policy explains exactly what the site does and does not collect.
